Youth Issues

The Premier of Québec is in charge of Youth Issues, a responsibility he insisted on undertaking personally because the wellbeing of young people is something he particularly cares about.

I ascribe great importance to perpetuating the tradition begun by Robert Bourassa, namely, that the youth portfolio be the Premier's responsibility so that the government in its entirety is involved in fostering the success of young Quebecers.

A first Youth Action Strategy was launched in 2006-2009 to help youth attain their full potential and realize their ambitions. Given the positive outcomes of the Strategy, the government renewed and boosted its action under Youth Action Strategy 2009-2014. The Strategy, themed Investing in Youth – Empowering Québec's Future, builds on the government's commitment to youth, taking their new needs and challenges into account.
